Growing up in Louisiana, I experienced snow maybe two or three times in my nineteen years of life. When it snows all the kids are very excited because that means snow day, no school. When I learned that I was moving up to the Pacific North West, I was expecting it to snow so much. Nope, not at all. The funny thing is that it snowed more in Louisiana this winter then it did in Washington. When it does snow at Evergreen, it is a beautiful sight to see. The trees, which are still green (note the name evergreen), are covered in this white blanket that then falls to the ground. My dorm room window looks out into a little courtyard so when it snows I get to look out and watch the grass disappear. We have a big soccer field and after a few hours, it is just this big white sheet. One thing that I think is crazy, sometimes it is colder on a regular day then it is on a snow day. I love being able to just have a snowball fight with my friends on the way to class, and one day I plan to make a big snowman.
